With Bob Wills, Kitty Wells, and as always, lots of Sleater-Kinney & Mekons loaded up on the iPod, I left my Houston home at 5:00 AM on Sunday morning to barrel for six hours across Interstate 10 to San Angelo to meet my caravaning friends from Kansas City, the guys from the award-winning, long-running PBS series "Rare Visions and Roadside Revelations" as well as Ms. Kelly "Design Goddess" Ludwig of DetourArt.com fame. Along the route we visited stone houses, a stone waterfall, a Casa de Azucar, a Casa de Colores, a Tinker Town, a Tiny Town, and Margaret, too.

From dust to snow to dust again, here are 8 days, 2,655 miles, 1,363 photographs, and thousands of dead windshield bugs in six easy pages:
